Hello everyone,
Today I was in a conversation with a friend, and I had a question pop up that I had not considered.
Can Artificial Intelligence change life as we know it?
I know that this question seems a bit out of this world, but it is a real question. The development of Artificial Intelligence, when coupled with robotics is what is causing me to think deeply about the question above. I know all of you have seen movies such as Terminator or Robocop, but the time has come where the robot is no longer only in the movies, and it is becoming the newest invention.
I don't want to get off track, so I am going to stick with Artificial Intelligence and how it can change our lives.
AI once developed can perform many of the actions that humans can perform. Just imagine if you can, Artificial intelligence software working on problems that we HUMANS have not solved for years. The breakthroughs can help carve solutions involving Medicine, which can lead to cures for illnesses we have yet to find cures.
What do you think?
Let me know.......
Tony #1,
ReplyDeleteVery interesting blog post Tony, I would have loved to have been a part of the conversation because Artificial Intelligence coupled with robotics in today's day and age is really beginning to take off. There have been countless inventions developed over the last decade that have really helped. Every night before I go to sleep I call out to Alexa to start my robot vacuum, and even arm my house alarm. While changing the switches in my house have assisted me in this, I even turn lights in my kitchen and bedroom on and off as I please. With all the developments in AI over the years all of those features I described allow my family ease and access especially with the vacuum. Every morning it the vacuum has returned to the charging station. All it requires is to be emptied, imagine another decade where there will be a dumping mechanism? The only thing we may have to do is common maintenance.

Tony,
DeleteYour house sounds like it is super high tech!! One day I will get on your level. I still have the same old (RINKY DINKY) vacuum I purchased years ago, that requires me to plug it in, vacuum (Manually), then empty it out.
You are right about (easing) the work at home.
Thank you for stopping by,

Tony,
ReplyDeleteArtificial Intelligence (AI) is definitely the way ahead for not only medicine or as Tony mentions above, simplifying house chore, but for the development of our military community. Although, AI has a large gap to close before being filled in military ranks it is an option worth exploring. It would no doubt be life changing--for the average Soldier, it could mean less deployments and more time with the family. But we must always hold close, the words of GEN(R) Perkins, "Sometimes technology reduces one level of risk, but it increases another echelon of risk".

Lisa,
DeleteI do believe that the military can benefit from this technology, but your comment about Gen(R) Perkins is SPOT ON!!!
I've watched lots of movies where the robots take over, and this is what worries me the most. I understand that these are (JUST MOVIES), but sometimes what we we in Hollywood begins to materialize in real life.
As an example:
Do you remember the cartoon (The JETSONS)?
In this cartoon they demonstrated what we have today as Facetime. The odd thing is that this cartoon was being shown on TV in the 90s.
What other technology exists that we do not know about?
Is Artificial intelligence going to be embedded into everything we see from here on forward?
I'm just throwing it out there!! Thanks for stopping by.

Antonio,
ReplyDeleteArtificial intelligence is scary and amazing. In response to your question, I believe it has already changed our lives. You can speak into television remotes to change a channel or to your care to send a text through SIRI. There are a ton more examples, but something I learned a couple days ago is, you can choose Samuel L. Jackson's voice for your Amazon AI devices. Can you imagine that wakeup call? Thanks for the post.
Chuck
Chuck,
DeleteThanks for your post. I will look into the (Changing of voice) on the Amazon device. This seems interesting.
